Zwei (click for video)
www.zweidc.com

Zwei (pronounced “zway”) is a self-contained singing, songwriting, producing and performing duo from Washington, D.C. Brought up in and around perhaps the most cosmopolitan black scene in the nation, Zwei’s music is influenced by all the pros (and cons) of it. From funk to go-go to jazz to rock, the duo’s debut album, The 2, and their newly released sophomore album, 2’sday, tell D.C.'s stories with a cool but funky vibe. Zwei hopes to give their fellow D.C. music lovers something to call their own and be proud of.

Kyle Funn

Probably one of Baltimore and D.C.'s youngest elder statesmen, Kyle Funn has been playing professional gigs since 14 years-old. Playing with Howard University's Jazz Ensemble (also graduating from HU Magna Cum Laude), as well as playing with greats like Terrence Blanchard and Wynton Marsalis-Kyle's resume is more than impressive. A big inspiration for Zwei to make their BolaMarge label official, Kyle is the coolest under pressure. His inflection and tone, yet reluctance to take the front, gives his style and debut project its name. Cool, Never Smooth, will be the first of BolaMarge's jazz projects. With guest stars like Kris Funn, Howard 'KingFish' Franklin, and Jamal Orr, Mr. Funn's sound will be one of re-defining straight ahead jazz, funk, hip-hop, and fusion's parallels.

Sol (click for video)

Perhaps the richest baritone on D.C.'s soul music scene, Sol Edler, is no force to be taken lightly. Having recently gained attention in the soul music community backing Eric Roberson, Sol has much more of a story to tell. From his D.C./MD roots to his North Carolina Central University enrichment, Sol's story is emotion-filled, which you'll hear in the words, but more importantly THE VOICE. Get a taste of Sol-up front and on his own terms. "Step Further," is the first single from Song of Solomon, book 1, Sol's debut project. Sol Edler steps up to show why he is Eric Roberson's favorite background vocalist.

"In ten years, I never given anybody as much free reign on vocals with me as Sol."-Eric Roberson.
